Darlene has more than 25 years' experience in water and wastewater compliance and management systems implementation.

Her extensive municipal water/wastewater experience includes:

  • Creation, implementation and maintenance of programs and procedures to ensure compliance with environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Implementation and maintenance of quality management system in conformance with the Drinking Water Quality Management Standard.
  • Creation and implementation of extensive documentation, data and reporting systems.
  • Preparation, submission and presentation of: annual compliance reports, quality management system/compliance communications, education and training for staff, Council, external groups.
  • Ensuring efficient delivery of services for water distribution, wastewater collection, stormwater, municipal drains and environmental compliance.

Prior to entering the municipal water/wastewater field, Darlene worked in the private sector, coordinating the compliance activities for twelve privately owned water/wastewater facilities and overseeing the implementation and integration of management systems in conformance to: ISO 9001, an MECP ECA for industrial sewage works, and the CSA-B51 Quality Manual.
