Credible and Affordable Decarbonization

A Talk by Bruce Taylor (President, Enviro-Stewards Inc.)

About this Talk

Many organizations are setting timebound decarbonization and other emission goals. However, there is a lack of detail on their associated credible affordable pathways designed to meet those commitments.

Enviro-Stewards helped Maple Leaf Foods to reach carbon neutrality in 2019 (while saving 17 million dollars to date). And is currently assisting Jamieson Vitamins and Unilever North America to credibly & affordably meet their respective commitments.

This presentation makes use of case studies to outline an approach to estimating footprints, identifying and implementing deep conservation measures, and equitably and credibly offsetting the remaining balances. The reductions foster credibility (by substantially reducing footprints) and generate financial savings (to finance the remainder of the journey). The nature of the offsetting projects and manner of partnering with them lead to credible offsetting of remaining emissions while generating substantial co-benefits.
