Climate Change in Utilities & Municipalities
A Talk by Andrea Clemencio P. Eng. (Vice-President, Municipal VU Consulting Inc.)
About this Talk
This presentation highlights a more unique municipal perspective on climate change, emphasizing the need to validate and cross-check commitments and spending priorities. Municipalities and water/wastewater utilities are actively engaging in climate change initiatives, spending money on both reacting to risks (adaptation) and curbing human activities to reduce greenhouse gases (mitigation). Including but looking beyond typical infrastructure concerns, this discussion will urge attention to often overlooked municipal climate change issues, and how they might be considered in an action plan.
